What it is

What is VERTEX 2?

VERTEX 2 is proprietary trading software. Your subscription gives you a licence to use it on one trading account. It runs as a cBot inside the cTrader desktop app, on your own broker account, and so far it has been tested with Pepperstone. You choose your risk setting.

Is VERTEX 2 financial advice?

No. VERTEX 2 is software you use under a licence, on your own account. Nothing we publish is financial advice. Trading is risky, you can lose money, and there’s no guarantee of profit.

What you need

What do I need?

  • the cTrader desktop app, on a computer that stays on and online (a Windows PC or a Windows VPS is best, and a Mac works too);
  • a cTrader account set to Hedging, with a broker that offers the S&P 500 index;
  • your licence key and the VERTEX 2 file, both in My account › VERTEX 2.

The setup guide has the details.

Which brokers work?

VERTEX 2 is made for cTrader brokers that offer the S&P 500 index. So far it has been tested with Pepperstone, on CFD and spread-betting accounts. Your cTrader account must be set to Hedging: VERTEX 2 won’t start on a Netting account.

Does my account currency matter?

No. Any account currency works.

What leverage do I need?

VERTEX 2 runs at any leverage. Higher leverage lets you use a higher risk setting: the table in Risk and leverage gives the recommended maximum Risk % per trade for yours.

Can I use a spread-betting account?

Yes. VERTEX 2 recognises the spread-betting version of the S&P 500 (for example US500_SB). The account must be set to Hedging. A margin rate of 5% is the same as 1:20 leverage: see Risk and leverage for your risk setting.

Can I use a Mac?

Yes, but we recommend a Windows PC or a Windows VPS. cTrader for Mac can run VERTEX 2, but a Mac tends to go to sleep and drop its connection, and VERTEX 2 stops working while it does. On a Mac, the easiest way is a Windows VPS: see Running it on a VPS.

Can I use cTrader Web, cTrader Cloud or the phone app?

No. cTrader Web, cTrader Cloud and the phone app can’t run VERTEX 2. It needs the cTrader desktop app, on your own computer or a VPS (Windows is best). You can still watch your account on the phone app while VERTEX 2 runs on your computer or VPS.

Using VERTEX 2

When does VERTEX 2 need to be running?

From 8:00 am to 3:10 pm Chicago time, Monday to Friday (US market days): cTrader open, VERTEX 2 started, and the computer awake and online, so VERTEX 2 stays connected. The simplest way is to leave it running all the time; a VPS makes that easy. The setup guide shows these hours in other time zones.

What if my computer was off, or I start VERTEX 2 late?

Just start it again. VERTEX 2 reconnects by itself and carries on. It works best when it runs for the whole time above.

What if my internet drops?

VERTEX 2 reconnects by itself once your connection is back. You don’t need to restart it. If the log still says it isn’t connected after a few minutes, see What the log messages mean.

Can I change my risk?

Yes, any time. Stop VERTEX 2, change Risk % per trade in its settings, then press Start again. It’s best to do this outside the hours above.

What about US market holidays?

There’s nothing to do. You can leave VERTEX 2 running as normal.

Risk and your money

How does “Risk % per trade” work?

Risk % per trade is your risk setting. The default is 5, and you can set anything from 0.1 to 10. A lower number means smaller trades and smaller swings in your balance; a higher number means bigger ones. Check the recommended maximum for your leverage in Risk and leverage.

Any trade can lose money, and a loss can be bigger than you expect, for example when prices move fast or your broker’s spread is wide.

Risk and leverage

Keep Risk % per trade at or below the recommended maximum for the leverage your broker gives you on the S&P 500:

Leverage on the S&P 500Recommended maximum Risk % per trade
1:20up to 0.9%
1:30up to 1.3%
1:100 or moreup to 4.5%

If your leverage is between two rows, use the figure for the lower leverage. Below 1:20, use a lower setting still. The default is 5, so set yours before you start.

Some brokers give the S&P 500 a lower leverage than the rest of the account: VERTEX 2 shows the one that applies in its log when it starts. Above the recommended maximum, your margin may limit the size of some trades. VERTEX 2 still runs normally, and its log may show a note.

Is there a minimum account size?

There’s no fixed minimum, but every trade must be at least your broker’s smallest order size. With a very small balance or a low risk setting, VERTEX 2 skips a trade that would be smaller than that, and its log says so. VERTEX 2 shows your broker’s smallest order size in the log when it starts.

Does my money leave my broker account?

No. Your money stays in your own broker account. We never hold it, and we never need your broker password. VERTEX 2 only works with its own trades on the account it runs on, and never touches your other positions.

What does VERTEX 2 send us?

While it runs, VERTEX 2 stays connected to us over the internet so we can check your licence. To run your licence, to check VERTEX 2 is working as it should and to help you when something goes wrong, VERTEX 2 sends us:

  • your licence and account details: your licence key, your cTrader account number, your broker’s name, your account currency, whether the account is demo or live, and its leverage;
  • your set-up: the symbol it runs on, its version number, your VERTEX 2 settings, and your broker’s trading conditions for that symbol;
  • its activity: when it starts, connects and stops, and the details of its own trades on your account (such as times, prices, sizes, costs and profit or loss), with your balance at the time;
  • error reports: a short technical description when something goes wrong.

We also keep a scrambled (hashed) copy of the internet address VERTEX 2 connects from, to protect licence keys from guessing. VERTEX 2 never sends your broker password or your cTrader sign-in, and it can’t move money. Questions about this data? Email us at info@natgascentral.com. See also the VERTEX 2 part of our privacy policy.

Your licence

How do I get my licence key and the VERTEX 2 file?

Sign in and open My account › VERTEX 2. Your key is usually there within a few minutes of signing up: press Show the whole key to see it, then Copy to copy it. The VERTEX 2 file is there too: press Download VERTEX 2. Keep the key private: anyone with it could use your licence.

We never email your licence key or the VERTEX 2 file. Only install VERTEX 2 downloaded from My account › VERTEX 2, and never one that arrives by email or in a message.

Can I use one licence on several accounts?

No. A licence lets you use VERTEX 2 for your own trading on one cTrader account at a time, and each customer can have one licence. It can’t be shared, sold on or copied.

Demo and live accounts

VERTEX 2 can trade a demo or a live cTrader account. Two switches must both allow a live account: your licence key, and the Allow live account setting in VERTEX 2, which you set to Yes. If either one is off, VERTEX 2 won’t trade a live account, and its log shows a message: look it up in What the log messages mean.

The free trial is for demo accounts only. Your key is switched on for live accounts by itself, usually within a few minutes of your first payment: there’s nothing to ask for. Your first payment also comes with one free move from your demo account, with no need to ask: start VERTEX 2 on your live account with Allow live account set to Yes, and your key links itself to the live account (your demo copy stops when the live one connects). For any other change of account, see moving your licence.

Can I move my licence to another cTrader account?

Yes. Your key links itself to the first cTrader account you start VERTEX 2 on, and then works only there. To move it:

  1. Sign in, open My account › VERTEX 2 and press Ask to move my licence (you can add the new account’s number). If you’ve asked recently, My account shows the date you can ask again; if it’s urgent, email us.
  2. We free your key for the new account and email you when it’s done. You keep the same key, and until you start VERTEX 2 somewhere new, it keeps working on your old account.
  3. Start VERTEX 2 on the new account (set to Hedging). Your key links itself to that account, and a copy still running on the old account stops when the new one connects.

Can I run it on a second computer?

Yes, without asking us. Your key is linked to your cTrader account, not to a computer, so you can move VERTEX 2 between your computer and a VPS. But only one copy can run at a time. When a new copy starts with your key, the older copy stops itself, and its log says Another copy of VERTEX 2 has started with this licence key, so this copy has stopped. After moving, remove VERTEX 2 from the old computer so it isn’t started there again by mistake.

How do I update VERTEX 2?

From time to time there’s a new version of VERTEX 2. When there’s a new version, we email you. Download it from My account › VERTEX 2 (press Download VERTEX 2). We never email the VERTEX 2 file, so never install one that arrives by email or in a message. Outside the hours above, stop VERTEX 2, install the new file the same way as the first one (double-click it), check your settings and start VERTEX 2 again. If the log ever says This copy of VERTEX 2 is out of date, it’s time to update.

Payments and cancelling

How much does it cost?

VERTEX 2 is a monthly subscription. The price and the length of the free trial are shown on the VERTEX 2 page and at checkout, before you pay. If your price ever changes, we email you at least 7 days before the new price is charged, and you can cancel before then.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, for new customers: its length is shown on the VERTEX 2 page and at checkout. During the trial nothing is charged, and VERTEX 2 runs on a demo account only. If you don’t cancel, your first payment is taken when the trial ends, and from then on VERTEX 2 can trade a live account too. To pay nothing, cancel before the date My account › VERTEX 2 gives you (a day before your trial ends, to be safe). There’s one free trial per customer.

Can I get a refund?

No. We don’t give refunds for VERTEX 2, including for part of a month. The free trial is there so you can try VERTEX 2 before you pay. You can cancel any time in My account: your licence runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for, and nothing more is charged after that. NatGas Central’s 30-day money-back guarantee covers its memberships only, not VERTEX 2.

What if a payment fails?

Pay it from Your plan in My account; the store also tries your card again by itself. If it stays unpaid for 3 days, your licence is paused: VERTEX 2 keeps running but doesn’t trade, and its log says a payment is due. Once you’ve paid, it carries on by itself, usually within 10 minutes. You don’t need to restart it.

How do I cancel?

Any time, in My account: in the VERTEX 2 tab press Payments, card and cancel (or open your VERTEX 2 subscription under Your plan), then choose Cancel. Nothing more is charged after that, and if you cancel during the free trial you pay nothing.

What happens after I cancel?

Your licence keeps working until the end of the time you’ve paid for (or the end of the free trial). Then your licence ends: VERTEX 2 stops trading, and its log says your licence has ended. When you’re finished, stop VERTEX 2 outside the hours above and remove it from cTrader. If a VERTEX 2 trade is still open then, you can close it yourself in cTrader.

Can I change my mind after cancelling?

Yes, until your paid time (or free trial) runs out: open your VERTEX 2 subscription in My account and choose Reactivate. After that, you can sign up again from the VERTEX 2 page while places are available, and you keep the same licence key. There’s no second free trial.

Getting help

Join our Discord for updates and support. Your invite is in My account › VERTEX 2 once you’ve signed up. Please don’t share your invite.

Something looks wrong. What should I do?

Look up the message in What the log messages mean below. If that doesn’t sort it out, email us at info@natgascentral.com with a screenshot of the Log tab. Never send or post your licence key.

What the log messages mean

VERTEX 2 writes short messages in the Log tab of its instance in cTrader. Every line it writes starts with VERTEX 2 (after cTrader’s time stamp). cTrader adds a few lines of its own, for example when the instance starts or stops; you don’t need to look those up. Lines about a trade carry a short reference after a # sign (for example #a1b2c3), the same on each line about that trade. Each message is shown below word for word: search this page for words from your line. Words in angle brackets such as <SYMBOL> stand for your own values. Where a message asks you to get in touch, email us at info@natgascentral.com.

Starting up

These lines appear when VERTEX 2 starts. They’re normal.

VERTEX 2 v<VERSION> (<FLAVOUR>) starting on <SYMBOL>.

VERTEX 2 has started on your chart’s symbol and is checking your settings. The number after “v” is its version.

VERTEX 2: A system setting was missing on this computer, so VERTEX 2 uses its own copy. Nothing to do.

Your computer was missing a system setting, so VERTEX 2 uses its own copy. Everything works as normal.

VERTEX 2: Account leverage 1:<LEV>.

The leverage on your account. The line shows again if your leverage changes.

What to do: Check your Risk % per trade against Risk and leverage.

VERTEX 2: Account leverage 1:<ACCOUNT_LEV>; this symbol's leverage is 1:<SYMBOL_LEV>, and that is the one that applies. or VERTEX 2: Account leverage is not available from cTrader; this symbol's leverage is 1:<SYMBOL_LEV>, and that is the one that applies.

Your broker gives the S&P 500 a lower leverage than the rest of your account (or cTrader didn’t give your account’s leverage). The symbol’s leverage is the one that counts for VERTEX 2.

What to do: Use the symbol’s leverage in Risk and leverage.

VERTEX 2: Account leverage is not available from cTrader.

cTrader didn’t give VERTEX 2 your leverage. VERTEX 2 still runs.

What to do: Check your leverage with your broker, then your Risk % per trade against Risk and leverage.

VERTEX 2: Note: at 1:<LEV> leverage, your Risk % per trade is above the recommended maximum (see Risk and leverage in the VERTEX 2 FAQ). Your margin may limit the size of some trades. VERTEX 2 still runs normally.

Your Risk % per trade is above the recommended maximum for your leverage. VERTEX 2 still runs normally.

What to do: Optional: lower Risk % per trade to the figure for your leverage in Risk and leverage, or use higher leverage.

VERTEX 2: Could not read its saved data (<TYPE>), so it starts fresh.

VERTEX 2 couldn’t read the data it saved on this computer, so it starts without it. It still runs.

What to do: If you see it every time VERTEX 2 starts, email us a screenshot.

VERTEX 2: Your broker's order sizes: smallest <MIN> units, in steps of <STEP> units.

The smallest order your broker allows on this symbol, and the steps an order size goes up in.

VERTEX 2: Could not read your broker's order sizes (<TYPE>). or VERTEX 2: Could not read cTrader's trade history (<TYPE>).

cTrader didn’t give VERTEX 2 this information at that moment. VERTEX 2 still runs.

What to do: If it happens every time, email us a screenshot.

VERTEX 2: 'Max volume per order' is 0, so VERTEX 2 sets a safe order-size limit itself.

Normal with the usual settings: Max volume per order is 0, so VERTEX 2 uses its own limit on the size of each order.

VERTEX 2: Running. Risk <RISK>% per trade. Connecting...

Your settings are accepted, with your Risk % per trade, and VERTEX 2 is connecting.

What to do: Wait for the Connected line.

“VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED”

Each of these lines starts with VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED:. VERTEX 2 stops straight away and doesn’t trade. Fix the cause, then press Start again.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: VERTEX 2 runs only on a chart in real time. It can't run in backtesting or optimisation.

VERTEX 2 can’t be used in cTrader’s backtesting or optimisation.

What to do: Start it as a normal instance on a chart.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: This is a live account and 'Allow live account' is set to No. Set it to Yes to trade this account, or start VERTEX 2 on your demo account.

You started it on a live account while Allow live account is No.

What to do: To trade live, set Allow live account to Yes (your licence must allow live accounts too: see Demo and live accounts). Otherwise start it on your demo account.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: This cTrader account is set to Netting. VERTEX 2 needs an account set to Hedging. Open an account with 'Hedging' selected and start VERTEX 2 there.

The account is set to Netting. VERTEX 2 needs an account set to Hedging, demo or live.

What to do: Open a new account with Hedging selected and start VERTEX 2 there. Your key hasn’t linked itself to the Netting account, so it’s free to use.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: This chart's symbol (<SYMBOL>) doesn't look like the S&P 500 (US500). Start VERTEX 2 on your broker's S&P 500 chart, or set 'Confirm non-standard symbol' to Yes if your broker names it differently.

The instance isn’t on an S&P 500 symbol VERTEX 2 recognises.

What to do: Add the instance on your broker’s S&P 500 (often US500). If you’re sure your symbol is the S&P 500 under an unusual name, set Confirm non-standard symbol to Yes.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: Paste your licence key into the 'Licence key' setting, then start VERTEX 2 again.

The Licence key box is empty.

What to do: Paste your key and press Start.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: 'Risk % per trade' must be between 0.1 and 10.

Risk % per trade is outside the allowed range.

What to do: Set it between 0.1 and 10 and press Start.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: This copy of VERTEX 2 is not set up correctly. Please download VERTEX 2 again from My account › VERTEX 2. or VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: This copy of VERTEX 2 isn't an official one and can't be used. Please download VERTEX 2 again from My account › VERTEX 2.

This copy of the VERTEX 2 file is damaged or isn’t an official one.

What to do: Download VERTEX 2 again from My account › VERTEX 2 and install it (double-click the file). Still happening? Email us.

VERTEX 2 NOT STARTED: VERTEX 2 can't run its security check on this computer. Nothing was traded. Please email info@natgascentral.com with a screenshot of this log.

VERTEX 2 can’t run its security check on this computer, so it won’t start.

What to do: Email us a screenshot of the Log tab.

Connecting and your licence

VERTEX 2: Connected. Your licence is active.

Your licence key was accepted and VERTEX 2 is running.

VERTEX 2: Not connected (<REASON>). VERTEX 2 keeps trying by itself.

VERTEX 2 isn’t connected at the moment and keeps trying by itself. The words in brackets say why: “the connection was closed”, “timed out”, “secure connection failed”, “security check failed”, or “the connection could not be made or was lost”.

What to do: Check your internet connection. If it says “security check failed”, something on your network (for example a network that inspects secure connections) is in the way: try another network. If it lasts more than a few minutes, email us.

VERTEX 2: Too many copies of VERTEX 2 are running on this internet connection. Stop one of the others. This copy keeps trying by itself.

Too many copies of VERTEX 2 are running from your internet connection.

What to do: Stop the extra copies. This one then connects by itself.

VERTEX 2: The licence key was not recognised. Copy it again from My account › VERTEX 2 (the whole key, starting VX2-), paste it into the 'Licence key' setting, then start VERTEX 2 again.

The key isn’t one we issued, usually because part of it is missing.

What to do: Copy the whole key again from My account › VERTEX 2, paste it, then Stop and Start.

VERTEX 2: This licence key is already in use on a different cTrader account. If you changed accounts, press 'Ask to move my licence' in My account › VERTEX 2.

Your key is linked to another cTrader account.

What to do: Switch back to that account, or press Ask to move my licence: see Moving your licence.

VERTEX 2: Your VERTEX 2 licence is paused because a payment is due, so VERTEX 2 is not taking trades. You can pay in My account › Your plan. VERTEX 2 keeps running, checks again by itself and reconnects once the payment has gone through. You don't need to restart it.

A payment was still unpaid 3 days after it was due, so your licence is paused. VERTEX 2 keeps running but doesn’t trade. It writes this line once.

What to do: Pay from Your plan in My account and leave VERTEX 2 running. It carries on by itself, usually within 10 minutes of the payment, and the Connected line appears.

VERTEX 2: Your VERTEX 2 licence has ended, so VERTEX 2 has stopped connecting. To use VERTEX 2 again, start a new subscription on the VERTEX 2 page, or check your subscription in My account › VERTEX 2. Then restart VERTEX 2 in cTrader (Stop, then Start).

Your subscription has ended (for example you cancelled and your paid time or free trial ran out), so your key is switched off.

What to do: To carry on, sign up again on the VERTEX 2 page (you keep the same key), then Stop and Start VERTEX 2. If you think it’s a mistake, check your subscription in My account or email us. If you’re finished, stop VERTEX 2 and remove it from cTrader.

VERTEX 2: This licence key isn't switched on for live accounts. During the free trial VERTEX 2 runs on a demo account only, and live trading is switched on after your first payment. If you have already paid, check your subscription in My account › VERTEX 2, then restart VERTEX 2 in cTrader (Stop, then Start). For now, start VERTEX 2 on your demo account.

Your key isn’t switched on for live accounts. During the free trial it works on a demo account only.

What to do: Use your demo account. Your key is switched on for live accounts by itself, usually within a few minutes of your first payment: then Stop and Start VERTEX 2 on your live account. If you have already paid and still see this, check your subscription in My account › VERTEX 2, or email us. See Demo and live accounts.

VERTEX 2: This copy of VERTEX 2 is out of date. Please download the latest VERTEX 2 from My account › VERTEX 2.

This version of VERTEX 2 can’t be used any more.

What to do: Download the latest VERTEX 2 from My account › VERTEX 2, install it, then start it again.

VERTEX 2: Too many failed or repeated connection attempts came from this internet connection, so VERTEX 2 can't connect from it for a while. Check your licence key. VERTEX 2 tries again by itself.

Several failed attempts from your internet connection, usually with a wrong key, have blocked new connections from it for a while.

What to do: Check your key. VERTEX 2 tries again by itself and connects once the block is over.

VERTEX 2: Another copy of VERTEX 2 has started with this licence key, so this copy has stopped. Only one copy can run per licence key.

A newer copy started with your key, on this computer or another one, so this copy stopped itself.

What to do: Nothing, if you meant to move. If not, check where else VERTEX 2 is running.

VERTEX 2: The licence check refused the connection. VERTEX 2 tries again by itself.

The connection was turned away this time, and VERTEX 2 tries again by itself.

What to do: If it keeps happening, email us.

VERTEX 2: Not connected any more, so VERTEX 2 won't open new trades. If it has a trade open, leave it running until that trade has closed. Then fix the cause above and restart VERTEX 2 (Stop, then Start).

Follows one of the licence messages above that need you to act. VERTEX 2 won’t open new trades until the cause is fixed and you restart it.

What to do: If VERTEX 2 has a trade open (see Positions, comment VERTEX 2), leave it running until that trade has closed. Then fix the cause and Stop and Start VERTEX 2.

VERTEX 2: This version of VERTEX 2 skipped something it doesn't support. If you see this often, download the latest VERTEX 2 from My account › VERTEX 2.

This version of VERTEX 2 skipped something it doesn’t support. Your account isn’t affected.

What to do: If you see it often, download the latest VERTEX 2 from My account › VERTEX 2.

VERTEX 2: Something unexpected was ignored. Your account isn't affected.

VERTEX 2 ignored something unexpected. Your account isn’t affected.

What to do: If you see it often, email us a screenshot.

Trades

These lines are about VERTEX 2’s trades on your account. Each trade also shows in cTrader’s Positions, with the comment VERTEX 2. If cTrader gives no price or size at that moment, the line leaves that part out.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> opened: <UNITS> units at <PRICE>.

VERTEX 2 opened a trade of that size on your account. A note may follow on the same line (next rows).

Size cut from <WANTED> to <CAP> units by VERTEX 2's automatic order-size limit. or Size cut from <WANTED> to <CAP> units by your 'Max volume per order' setting. or Size cut from <WANTED> to <CAP> units, your broker's largest order.

A note after the trade’s line: the order was made smaller to stay within VERTEX 2’s own size limit, your Max volume per order setting, or your broker’s largest order.

Size cut from <WANTED> to <UNITS> units to fit your free margin.

A note after the trade’s line: the order was made smaller to fit your free margin.

What to do: Optional: see Risk and leverage.

Your broker said there was not enough margin for <WANTED> units, so VERTEX 2 tried once more with <UNITS> units.

A note after the trade’s line: your broker turned down the first size for lack of margin, so VERTEX 2 tried a smaller one.

What to do: Optional: see Risk and leverage.

Your broker confirmed the order late (<ERROR>). or Your broker confirmed the order late.

A note after the trade’s line: your broker reported a problem at first, but the trade did open.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> not opened: your broker refused the order (<ERROR>). or VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> not opened: your broker refused the order.

Your broker refused the order, so no trade opened. The words in brackets, when there are any, are your broker’s.

What to do: If it happens more than once, email us a screenshot.

Your broker said there was not enough margin for <WANTED> units, and a smaller size would be below your broker's smallest order.

A note after a “not opened” line: there wasn’t enough margin, and a smaller trade would have been below your broker’s smallest order.

What to do: Lower Risk % per trade, use higher leverage, or free up margin: see Risk and leverage.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> closed at <PRICE> by VERTEX 2.

VERTEX 2 closed the trade.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> closed by the broker at <PRICE>.

Your broker closed the trade.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> closed by the broker at <PRICE>: stop out (not enough margin in the account).

Your broker closed the trade because the account ran short of margin (a stop out).

What to do: Consider a lower Risk % per trade, and check your account’s free margin.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> was closed outside VERTEX 2 (by hand, or by another program) at <PRICE>.

The trade was closed by hand or by another program, not by VERTEX 2.

What to do: Please leave VERTEX 2’s trades to VERTEX 2.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> was already open when VERTEX 2 started, so VERTEX 2 carries on with it.

After a restart, VERTEX 2 found one of its trades still open and carries on with it.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> had already closed, so there was nothing to do. or VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF>: VERTEX 2 was already closing it.

The trade had already closed, or VERTEX 2 was already closing it, so there was nothing more to do.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> was already closed by your broker. or VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> was already closed by your broker (stop out). or VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> was already closed.

The trade had already closed at your broker, so there was nothing more to do. “Stop out” means your broker closed it because the account ran short of margin.

What to do: If it says stop out, consider a lower Risk % per trade.

Skipped trades

A line with not taken means VERTEX 2 didn’t open that trade, and your account isn’t touched. Most of these need nothing from you.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> not taken: VERTEX 2 had already handled this trade.

VERTEX 2 had already handled this trade, so there was nothing to do.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> not taken: your broker gave no price at that moment.

Your broker had no price for the symbol at that moment.

What to do: If it happens often, check cTrader is connected to your broker.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> not taken: your broker's price couldn't be used at that moment.

VERTEX 2 couldn’t use your broker’s price at that moment, so it left the trade out.

What to do: If it repeats, email us a screenshot.

VERTEX 2: Trade #<REF> not taken: its size was below your broker's smallest order.

The trade would have been smaller than your broker’s smallest order (a small balance or a low risk setting).
